Abstract Thw World Wide Web, as a mean of propagation of information and services, addresses a wider range of people. Consequently, the need for accessible Web content construction becomes even more prominent taking into account the fact that all the people should be able to access such information. Given the fact that the access to Web content is greatly affected by design decisions taken during the early stages of Web development, it is of critical importance to offer methods and services supporting the design and construction of accessible websites, without requiring specific technical experience for accessible Web authoring. Excluding the specific graphical style been adopted for the construction of a web template, it is of critical importance for developers to satisfy a variety of implied users requirements as early as posssible during the website implementation. In addition to human diversity due to a disability or age, and assistive technology (in-) compatibility to new features introduced, it is important the final outcome to address diveristy of end users requirements and to multi-device support (e.g., device-browser pair), as ooposed to reactive or ad hoc approaches, and additional consideration toward. It is generally advisable to take accessibility into consideration as early as possible, i.e., durong product specification. However, since in practice Web accessibility is not considered early enough, the main purpose of this thesis is to provide an innovative online authoring service that constructs accessible website designs. The specific service designed and constructed: 1. Supports the construction of different styles according to the device in use (i.e., Desktop PC, iPhone TM, PDA). 2. Supports the application of CSS styles to preselected template areas, and produces valid markup and CSS coding without requiring any prior knowledge or authoring expertise. 3. Provides guideance to the designer in such a way that the final outcome achieves high usefulness, in terms of background-foreground color combinations and to the produced markups as well, which fully complies with thw WC AG 1.0. Lastly, the reusability of design cases provided by other users enhances collaboration towards Web authoring the aforementiones services called Designer implemented with the use of the Web Harmonia platform, Web Harmonia, an interaction platform, accompanied by supposrting services, that facilitates the production of universally accessible web material. The Design along with its subservices was embedded to the Web Harmonia in order to facilitate the production of fully accessible and polymorphic web design templates.
