Abstract Introduction: Physical activity is considered to be one of the major aspects in the promotion of public health. According to published data, studies of physical activity in preschool - aged children are limited. Methods: Α questionnaire was used aiming to assess the duration and intensity of the physical activity during one week. A four day record of 24 children’s direct physical activity assessment was used for the correlation of the data. Results: The mean age of children was 4.21 (SD:0.66) years. There was a statistically significant correlation between two measures for the evaluation of the total time spend in MVPA {rho=0.64 (p=0.00)}. Discussion: Parental-report measures were significantly correlated to a direct measurement of MVPA by accelerometer in preschool - aged children. Future assessment of this questionnaire in a larger sample could provide additional data that could make it a useful tool for measuring the activity of preschool children. Abbreviations : MVPA, Moderate Vigorous Physical Activity.
