Abstract The present thesis was conducted within the frame of the Masters “Distance learning with the use of ICT (e-learning)” of the department of primary education (D.P.E) at the University of Crete. The aim of the thesis was the creation of teaching material suitable for distance learning for the professional development of the primary teachers with the “Pedagogical use of the ‘Papier Mache’ and ‘Stop Motion Animation’ techniques”. In particular, a literature review about the ‘Papier Mache’ application within the educational context as well as the distance professional development of the teachers was carried out. Subsequently, the distance multiform teaching material was formed following the principles of the design and development of distance learning and the cognitive theory of multimedia learning. Lastly, there was a qualitative research where the educational material of the primary teachers was studied. The results of this study have been positive as indicated by the educational material. This appears to satisfactorily offer Scientific Cohesion and Validation, simple and understandable presentation of the subject, support and interaction in the pupil’s study, Reflection and Self-assessment. Furthermore, it seems that Bloom’s taxonomy s being implemented motivating the teachers in all three levels (knowledge, skills, and attitudes). Also, it has been created according to the principles of Multimedia Learning at a quite satisfactory level without the Pre-teaching technique being involved. Finally, the techniques of ‘Papier Mache’ and ‘Stop Motion Animation’ within the educational context are of great benefit since teachers are able to acknowledge how much students can profit from these, hence making them being willing to definitely apply them in during their classes in many subjects.
