Abstract Little is known about the family system environment of students who experience barriers to learning and development in our country. The purpose of this study is to select information about the psychological and pedagogical environment of these family systems. To achieve this goal, we have asked of the mothers of these primary school students to describe these two dimensions of their family environment. The psychological and pedagogical peculiarities of these family systems may be another barrier to the development of these children and to school working. The continual attendance, support and reinforcement of these families are be to consider as the most important conditions of achieving such a cooperation between family and school that leads to the global, best and without barriers development of these children.
