Abstract With the official introduction of Drama Education in elementary school (1990), the Greek State invests on this newly established teaching object and helps the drama educator to meet the growing demands of the program. The first handbook for the teacher is being published, the pilot adaptation of the "Melina Program" begins and a basic core for Drama Education is being created, on which the instructor will be based to achieve effective approach to this specific scientific field. Shortly after, the introduction of Drama Education is being instituted in After School Programs. This includes activities of various interest, taking place two hours a week in the afternoon program, by teachers of corresponding speciality. The current study, aims to the determination of the image presented by this subject, in terms of After School Programs. In the first place we delve on a relative bibliography and located our research reports associated with it. The point that is worth to mention at this stage is the doubtful function of the program. Subsequently, with the help of empirical research, we tried to highlight the overall picture presented by the subject in question in premises of After School Programs. Among the precious conclusions of this research effort, we discern courses by Drama Educators taking place in extremely small classrooms, without the use of the appropriate equipment, failure to program of actions (non-fixed time of children’s departure) and the lack of happenings’ organization in two circles with corresponding content of activities. At the same time, the failure to actions with inter-thematic elements are being noticed, as well as the students’ fatigue and the lack of adequate pedagogical training of teachers. Drama teachers do not develop a special cooperation with the other institutions of the program and point out the need for change in attitude in After School Programs (care babysitting). Finally, they suggest initiatives by the State, for organizing special training programs of effective crisis management in the classroom.
