Abstract |
For the purpose of this master thesis paper teaching material was created based on the methodology
of distance learning for the students of the 3rd grade of Primary School and in particular
for the chapter ‘’Hercules’’ on the subject of History. Ulterior goal of the paper was to constitute
a form of material that would be used additionally during the teaching of the aforementioned
chapter. In the first chapter of the paper the terms of the distance education, complementary
school distance education and digital storytelling are identified and analyzed conceptually,
while a reference is made to history teaching and also characteristics of the methodology
of distance education. In the second chapter researches are presented that were identified
through the survey of Greek bibliography and are related with the subject of this paper, while
on the third chapter the principles and standards that were taken into consideration during the
creation of the material and the material itself are presented. What follows is the valuation of
the material through two researches. The first was a qualitative with a purpose sampling an had
as a goal to investigate if indeed the learning material that was created was based on the methodology
of distance education as it has been analyzed by the experts of the field an if during
its creation the principles of creation of multimedia education were met. The collection of the
data was made through a questionnaire that was designed by EDIVEA. The second research
was, also qualitative, the collection of the data was made through a questionnaire designed by
the researcher ad its goal was to examine its usableness, the completeness of its tutoring content
and the opinion of active teachers of Primary Education about if the material ha was created
can be utilized supplementarily during the teaching process. Formative evaluation was implemented
in order to identify any weaknesses and imperfections of the material and to correct
them. In the last two chapters a presentation is made of the findings and the conclusion that
emerged.
