Abstract	In this work we show that the union of an axis-aligned cube and rectangle in Rd whose intersection has even codimension does not con- stitute a tile by translations in the special case where all sides of the rectangle have length greater than one. This complements a result of M. Kolountzakis who showed that in the odd codimension case, the union tiles the space by translations.
