Abstract A Cross-Sectional study carried out in Crete during October 2018 – March 2019. 385 serums of sheep and goats were collected and analyzed with indirect Elisa. The number of positive sera was 92 in total of 385. The proportion of seropositive animals was 23.9%. Seropositivity in males (27.59%) was higher than in females (23.61%). Goats showed a higher prevalence rate (26.04%) compared to sheep (23.18%). The samples from the region of Lassithi had the highest seropositivity rate (37.50%), followed by region of Chania (29.63%), region of Rethymno (23.53%) and region of Heraklion (18.45%). Taking into account the results, the relationships between the sex (ρ2 = 0.235: p&> >.05), the species (ρ2 = 0.324: p> 0.05), the Regional Unit (ρ2 = 5.115: p> 0.05) and the number of animals per herd (U = 13084.5: p> 0.05), with animal seropositivity being non-statistically significant. A statistically significant relationship was observed between the type of breeding (ρ2 = 6,640: p <0,05) and seropositivity of sheep and goats. Farms that keep only goats in their flock show a greater risk of having seropositive animals than sheep, (OR 3.908, 95% CI 1.242, 12.296) Animals of Lasithi have a 2.5 times greater risk of being seropositive than those of Heraklion (OR 2.653, 95% CI 1.011, 6.961). With the use of Geographic Information Systems high-risk clusters emerged centrally and south of the region of Chania, centrally located in the region of Rethymno, SW in the region of Heraklion and in all the three municipalities of region of Lasithi, with most of them concentrating in the East.
