Abstract The main topic of this dissertation is the constitutional provision of the press and radio and television. The press has a multiple role as it carries out informative and educational means and tries to shape the consciousness of the citizens. The press, initially, is the foundation and the basic element for the existence and functioning of a democratic state. At the same time, freedom of the press is a fundamental right for every citizen and a constitutionally guaranteed order their views are disseminated without limiting and catalyzing this possibility. Then, both freedom of the press and radio and television, which restrictions are listed on the basis of the Constitution, are examined and evaluated. Through the historical analysis is presented the way in which the current provisions of the Greek legislation were formulated (article 14-15) while it is understood the existence of a different regime between radio and television and press. Indicative reference is also made to the corresponding case law for the press and radio and television in the period 1821-2008. The notion of freedom of the press and radio and television and its demarcation seems to have plagued and continues to trouble the Greek legal system for a long time, a fact that can be seen through reading the topic.
