Abstract The character and the possibilities of children’s literature have changed dramatically over the years. Children’s literature is now an “open window” to reality and real life problems and consitutes the perfect way for children to practice critical thinking and try to find solutions and face that reality. This diplomatic thesis is a first attempt for the integration of some entire books for children in the classroom. The lesson plans that were designed were based upon three of the most known stories of Dahl and another three of Greece’s number one storyteller, Eugenios Trivizas. The objective is, on one hand to introduce the classic stories of Dahl to the modern children and to reveal the timelessness of them, and on the other hand to help children’s literature to regain leading role in the teaching process. The lesson plans and the activities that were designed based on the stories of Dahl and Trivizas, tried to involve all the subjects of elementary’s school senior class and gave the students the opportunity to express themselves in various ways.
