| Abstract |
Introduction: The coronavirus pandemic brought about many changes in the health system, as it became a priority and set aside many chronic and serious diseases. Patients with renal insufficiency in particular have experienced many difficulties in accessing the various health services. Due to the great need for immediate and continuous care, kidney patients turned to other methods, such as the use of telemedicine and home care.
Purpose: The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the pandemic on patients with renal insufficiency and how it affected their accessibility to the health system. Secondly, the need for increased care in patients with renal insufficiency was highlighted. Modern methods of providing medical care to kidney patients were presented.
Methodology: A bibliographic review was performed with search engines and medical databases such as Medline, Pubmed and Google Scholar. The data were collected from scientific articles, studies, books and official websites of international organizations. A questionnaire was used in the research part of the work and a statistical analysis was performed for the collected data.
Conclusions: The findings of the literature review showed that there are many difficulties in the health system and it is necessary to improve health services in order to provide easy access and quality care to patients with renal insufficiency. Despite the current crises, the health sector can function effectively by applying innovative medical care methods
