Abstract

In the context of this thesis, educational material was developed for the distance education of primary school teachers on the use of augmented reality (AR) in education. The training was carried out entirely remotely, in collaboration with the school counselor Dr. Bajiati Irini, in the 8th district of N. Heraklion. At the same time, a survey was carried out on the views of the teachers who participated in the training, on distance learning, AR, as well as on the final evaluation of the educational material. The results of the survey showed that the majority of the trainees agree with the statements that distance learning can cover the educational needs of an educator, can improve student’s learning experience and also as for their experience in distance learning, was positive and has remained positive after monitoring this training. Let us also point out that the comments of the participants in the evaluation of the educational material (EM) were very positive. Some of the characteristics of the EM that were assessed were its structure, the adequacy of the subject's coverage, its interoperability, usability, clarity, guidance, appearance, support and cooperation with the trainer. The main subjects that trainees countered and negatively mentioned were mainly technical issues.
