Abstract	Context can be said to be the key for the development of intelligent and adaptable systems. In this work, we developed and evaluated a context aware cooking assistant. The approach taken, is to use a situation model for context awareness. Our situation model is structured along time, activity, location and the person's identity. The functionality and usability of the developed system was evaluated by users. The results showed that the users were successfully assisted by the cooking assistant and their performance was enhanced. We conclude with proposals of future work for the system development
