Περίληψη This thesis documents the designing and development of an image projection device that uses a combination of two Acousto-optic modulators to create a projection of a given arbitrary image on to a gas cloud. The projection happens solely with the use of the Acousto-optic modulators, meaning it has only optical components and no mechanical. The image is created with the use of Python and Mathematica and then is sent as frequency modulation into the AOM system where a laser beam diffracts in relation to the modulation of AOMs. This results in the Laser beam’s angle to match the pixels of the desired image and in high frequencies this can be captured as a still image with a camera placed at the focal point of the laser. In this project we managed to create images from Harmonic Functions (Lissajous Curves) and then experimented with the projection of custom images that resulted in inconsistent levels of success.
