Abstract The term Kung fu or gong Fu or wushu is used in the West to describe the traditional Chinese martial arts. In Chinese, the term Kung fu refers to every skill acquired after hard exercise and apprenticeship, while the term wushu means martial art. The term Kung Fu, both in folk and militant culture, includes thousands of styles, all of which are to some extent centered on discipline in order to cultivate health, spirituality and self-defense. In recent decades, martial arts as a subject of study have become very popular in the science of sociology, psychology and related disciplines. The subject of this work was the examination of psycho-pedagogical aspects of Long Fist Praying Mantis Kung Fu. The dissertation adopted the humanitarian example instead of the predominantly naturalist, the qualitative method and the phenomenological interpretative and interpretive approach. The research was conducted with semi-structured interviews of open type. The sample consists of eight research associates: the teacher and seven pupils in the school. The 2 students selected for this research are considered to be beginners, 2 students are considered to be in the middle to the advanced level and the other 3 students are considered to be advanced students of the faculty. The teacher is officially certified Wushu-Kung Fu trainer from the General Secretariat of Sports. He was one of the first students of Grandmaster Lee Je Dong. The role of the teacher is a key issue in the present research and seems to affect students not only in learning style but also cultivating skills, values and transferring the mindset of fighting art to many aspects of his pupil's life. All students believe that Kung Fu is a way of life.
