Abstract Porphyrins and bodipy dyes (boron-dipyrromethene) possess synthetic interest because of the wide range of their use. In this thesis was performed a synthesis and characterization of BDP-F(L)F(L)-Fmoc and BDP-F(L)F(L)-Boc as well as TPP-NH-PNA. The purpose is to create a system capable to self assemble into structures with a large photon capture cross-section that upon a stimulus reversibly can switch in an inactive state. Here we describe a robust dipeptide F(L)F(L)-dipeptide construct which is bonded with a bodipy molecule and self assembles in space to fibrils or nanospheres depending on the solvent composition. The difference in the morphology attributes to intense excitonic couplets in circular dichroism spectra in low polarity solvent but silent circular dichroism but high fluoresce in high polarity solvent. Furthermore the synthesis of TPP-NH-PNA aims to create a system with the same properties as mentioned above but with the porphyrin now being the chromophore attached to the oligopeptide (FMoc-PNA-G (Bhoc)-OH).For the complete description and identification of these compounds, obtained mass spectra (Maldi-ToF) and nuclear magnetic resonance NMR 1H και 13C. Also ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis) and fluorescence was performed. Simultaneously, for the three dimensional structure identification of the compounds , SEM images were obtained.
