Abstract The quality and frequency of teachers practices, regarding the use of Information and Communication Technology(ICT) during teaching, can be considerably improved, depending on teachers personal teaching theory and depending on whether teachers have positive views on issues related to teaching using ICT. This research aims to assess the primary school teachers teaching personal theory and the teachers views and practices on topics related to teaching using ICT. The research also aims to interpret the relationships between the above variables. This quantitative research implemented during the school year 2008-2009, with two closed questionnaires. Where, the first questionnaire addressed to a sample of 318 teachers and the other questionnaire addressed to a sample of 59 directors serving on Primary Schools in the wider city of Iraklion, Crete. The analysis shows that teachers personal theory of teaching and learning, tend to be consistent with the constructivist learning theory. Also, in general, teachers views on issues related to teaching using ICT seems to be positive and the related teachers practices tend to be consistent with the constructivist learning theory. Finally, although it seems that teachers tend to use ICT during their teaching in the classroom and in the computer laboratory, the frequency of instructional use of ICT appears to be low, in the classroom and in the school computer laboratory.
