Abstract Burnside’s Theorem can be used to enumerate the number of distinct objects. Burnside’s Theorem is based on counting orbits and provides us the number of distinct objects. However, sometimes we are not only interested in the number of distinct objects but we also want to know further information about their characteristics. Pólya’s Enumeration Theorem is very useful because it derives a polynomial that demonstrates how the distinct objects look like except for their number. Such a useful tool has numerous applications. In this master thesis, applications of Pólya’s Enumeration Theorem are presented in the enumeration of cubes, graphs and chemical compounds.
