Abstract

The economic crisis that the country went through - the effects of which are still well established in the Greek reality-, in combination with the galloping economic and social changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, had a very significant impact on the Greek labour market. The present dissertation deals with the current situation of Employment and Labour Market Policies in Greece, in the year 2022. Through the bibliographic research, an attempt is made to record old and new challenges that the country is called to face, with the Active Labour Policies with its basic “weapon”. Special mention, due to its importance, is made on the issue of increased -compared to the rest of Europe-youth unemployment rates, while the work also investigates the existence of old and new forms of employment in Greece and the degree to which they are found in the country. A special basis is also given to the analysis of the main points of the new labour law, while explaining the changes that it is going to bring to the structure of the Greek labour market. The end of the paper consists of the conclusions, as well as some suggestions for resolving the issues identified.
