Abstract In the present research, a political-theoretical examination is attempted in the eminently mature Marxian work, the Capital. The central problem of the research is the investigation of aspects on the question of the possibility of forming a revolutionary consciousness of the labor subject in the first volume of the Capital. Marx, following the developments of Kant and Hegel from his first texts, leads to the manuscripts known as German Ideology in a (materialistic) conception that considers the productive forces and their development as the key factor of socialization in history. A closer examination of this Marxian conception, however, we consider to have as a privileged place of inquiry Capital: here the analysis of economic categories can be approached simultaneously as an analysis that delimits forms of consciousness, as economic categories are considered by Marx to be "forms of thought which are socially valid, and therefore objective for the relations of production".The present work at first set as a goal to investigate problems related to the formation and critique of consciousness in Marx's Capital in general. This led to the study of the main body of the Capital together with the relevant literature. The problem of consciousness on the one hand concerned a large part of Marxian analysis through the reconstruction of his texts but on the other hand, and given the enormous range, it was decided to limit this problem to individual topics. Therefore, from the study of the relevant literature and in the process of concretizing the question, the problem of the possibility of establishing a revolutionary consciousness in Marx's magnum opus arose. To do so, we examined the way the labor subject was formed and involved in the capitalist production process. This takes place in two parts, each of which is divided into two chapters. The main position that is defended is the following: in the production process of capital itself, in the analyzes of the production of absolute and relative surplus-value, it is possible to reconstruct a problematic, which connects the development of the labor subject's consciousness with the movement of the Marxian exhibition, which directed towards the possibility of breaking into the capitalist form. This means, however, that a systematic line of development of the labor subject can be identified in these analyzes, which moves in parallel with the development of the real subject of the capitalist process, that is, of capital.
