Abstract The subject of dissertation is the study of Nikos Themelis' trilogy, "Anazitisi" (1998), "Anatropi" (2000) and "Analampi" (2003) through the prism of History. In the end of the 20th century the historical novel has been revived and a whole discussion is taking place about the genre of the historical novel and its evolution. Themelis has been criticized as the author who renewed the traditional historical novel. The purpose of the essay is to examine two aspects, the perception and the interpretation of History, in addition to how the fictional characters are acting through the historical events and they are constructing their identities.
