Abstract In recent years, scientific developments in the field of reproduction have changed the reproductive landscape. The sector that has been strongly influenced by developments is the field of human reproduction. Natural reproduction is no longer the only way to have children, as with new techniques it is now possible to overcome many restrictions that nature has imposed on human reproduction. Geneticreproductive technologies, from IVF to egg and sperm donation, uterine lending for gestation, posthumous paternity, uterine transplantation, ectogenesis, the prospect of cloning, the creation of sperm from stem cells in a laboratory, the modification of genetic material, the design of embryos with desired gene characteristics, creates new social relationships – family and kinship, but also choices, setting the basis for reflection on the limits and content of reproductive freedom, or else the right to reproduce, primarily not in its narrow legal sense, but from a moral point of view and especially in the light of bioethical problems. For this reason, I consider it necessary in the first part of this work to refer to the foundationsof moral theory, the relationship between law and morality and a) the concept of right as an object of philosophical reflection and reconstruction of philosophical arguments regardingthe moral foundation of the concept of right and b) the concept of the legal right In the second part, after exposing the kinds and methods of artificial reproduction and their legislative treatment in our country and in other legislations, in the third part I will analyze the concept of the right to reproduction in general, but also in particular the force and content of a possible moral right in the application of reproductive genetic technologies. After investigating its legal foundation in the current legal system, the moral foundation of the investigated right will be discussed in a synthetic effort, the aim of which is to place the mayor ethical challenges and concerns withina Kantian reflective approach.A critical analysis of themethods that are controversial will be attempted. It is my contention that a moral conception of an individual right to reproductive technology cannot be formulated in a single, unitary or absolute way.
