Abstract THE STUDY REFERS TO THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SEX AND EDUCATIONAL CHOICE IN SECONDARY EDUCATION. THE SCOPE OF THE RESEARCH HAS BEEN TO STUDY THE REASONS WHICH MAKE THE FEMALE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO BE UNWILLING TO PURSUE THE TECHNICAL EDUCATION AFTER THE COMPLETION OF THE COMPULSORY EDUCATION. THE STATISTICAL ANALYSIS BASED ON 4760 WRITTEN QUESTIONNAIRES (5 DIFFERENT TYPES) HAS SHOWN THAT THE SOCIOECONOMIC BACKGROUND OF THE GIRLS WHO CHOOSE TECHNICAL EDUCATION IS LOW, THEIR SCHOOL PERFORMANCE IS POOR AND THEIR LEVEL OF ACCEPTANCE OF THE TRADITIONAL FEMALE ROLE IS HIGH. THE NEGATIVE ATTITUDE OF THE MAJORITY OF GIRLS TO PURSUE TECHNICAL EDUCATION IS A RESULT OF LACK OF INTEREST ABOUT TECHNICAL COURSES AND JOBS. THEN THEY PREFER TO CONTINUE THEIR STUDIES AT UNIVERSITY LEVEL AND MAKE ACADEMIC CAREERS
