Abstract

A number of patients with HIP fractures, that found to be 6.2% of all patients with a HIP fracture, fad sustained in the past a HIP fracture of the contralateral HIP. this group of patients with the so called bilateral non contemporary HIP fracture has been studied and compared with a controled group. Our results were important in determination of the time and the type of the second HIP fracture which was found to double the mortality reta one year after the fracture and five years after the fracture.
