Abstract	The aim of this study is to estimate the level of job satisfaction of substitute teachers of secondary education in Greece after the spread of COVID 19, and to investigate the most important factors that influence it. Initially, the theoretical clarification of the term is made, followed by empirical research. The survey was conducted in April-September 2023 among teachers throughout the whole Region of Crete, who are the sample of the research. The dispersion of the sample in school units throughout the Region ensured that the data could be analyzed and compared between teachers serving in urban, semi-urban and rural school units. The research instrument used was a structured questionnaire with closed-ended, graduated scale questions, which included the Job Satisfaction Survey by Athanasios Koustelios and was completed by 127 teachers. The results showed that although substitute teachers are satisfied with their jobs but they are not satisfied enough with some dimensions such as their salary.
