Abstract Behavioral management of children in early childhood is a perennial issue for preschool teachers. The frequency with which behavior problems are increasing in this particular student population makes the search for practices by teachers to suppress or deal with them immediate. This study seeks to investigate the frequency and category of techniques (proactive or reactive) that teachers choose to follow in order to manage children’s behaviors and then evaluate them based on their effectiveness. The questionnaire was used as the research tool of the study, which was completed by 114 preschool teachers. The results of the research highlighted the importance and use of prevention strategies-techniques that focus on creating an appropriate environment and organizing teaching using clear rules and expectations. Also, the participants gave special importance to the practice of discussion as an important help in managing children's behaviors. Finally, positive reinforcements are a frequent choice of teachers, while in terms of negative reactive techniques, they are content with mild restrictive techniques. The findings of the study are indicated for future research.
