Abstract The purpose of the present meta-analytic research is to detect the differences between boys and girls in the manifestation of general, physical, relational, proactive and reactive aggression from preschool age to adolescence. It also examines various parameters that can differentiate the manifestation of types of aggression between boys and girls, such as the country of origin of the children, their age, the type of research in which they took part, as well as the sample size of each of study. The research includes 38 studies with a total of 86 cases of data published from 1979 to 2021. The results showed that the boys and girls of the sample have statistically significant differences in the types of general, relational, proactive and reactive aggression, with boys presenting higher mean values than girls in the cases of general, provocative and reactive aggression, while girls have higher mean value in the relational type. In the parameters that possibly differentiate the effect sizes of differences between the sexes, no statistically significant differences were found with the exception of the age parameter where a statistically significant difference was found in the type of general aggression between the ages of 4-6 years old and 7-12 years old and the parameter of the type of research where it was found that children's aggression differs with the differences being stronger in cross-sectional studies. However, these results should be viewed with caution as the sample turned out to be small and many relationships were not statistically significant, which is the main limitation of the research.
