Abstract Family is the starting point for all of our lives and within it the mother- daughter subsystem appears to be the most dynamic and interactive from many perspectives. The mother- daughter relationship is a pivotal relationship for both mother’s and daughter’s lives. Mother transfers her entire personality to her daughter and plays a decisive role in shaping her daughter’s identity. Growing up the daughter tries to chart her own course which has its roots in her relationship with her mother. Everything that daughter carries from this relationship combined with the subsequent experiences she acquires in her life determine the quality of her personal and interpersonal relationships, the learning and educational path and the professional and personal choices she makes in her life. The aim of the postgraduate research is to study the emotional, socio- ethical and pedagogical dimensions of the mother- daughter relationship. The research sample concerns 6 adult women (3 pairs of adult mothers and their daughters) who describe their relationship as it was, as it is and how they imagine it will be or shape up in the future, each from their own perspective. Through this biographical- narrative description and the in-depth qualitative analysis of their relationship, the influences of one on the other in the mother-daughter system are explored. Also, through their perceptions and relative positions the emotional, moral and psychopedagogical dimensions of their relationship are highlighted. The women in the sample recommend in-depth case studies based on systemic methodology. Epistemologicallymethodologically the entire process of data collection and analysis follows the principles of qualitative research, with biographical- narrative interviews, with clinical interviews and with analysis of relevant trace and metaphorical works. The mail goal is to investigate: (a) how each (mother and daughter) experiences and describes the quality of the relationship with her mother/ daughter today, in the modern era of multiple crises including the pandemic, (b) how their identity is shaped, especially daughters, through their interaction with their mother, (c) what are the influences of one on the other in terms of their lives, perceptions and choices and (d) how the relationship each daughter with her mother emerges and shapes their attitude, value system and behavior in relation to self, family, others and society and life in general. Through the present research many different aspects and dimensions of the motherdaughter relationship were highlighted. It appeared that communication, interest and care are key elements of the mother- daughter relationship. Mother influences her daughter regarding her choices, her moral orientations and her behavior in her personal and interpersonal relationships. Through the generations the relationship between mother and daughter is reproduced while many elements of the mother’s relationship with her own mother emerge in her relationship with her daughter. The quality of the relationship between mother and daughter depends on a number of factors such as life events, character and personality of mother and daughter and socio-cultural factors. In the entire process of the research, the researcher had taken care and committed to maintain complete confidentiality for all the information obtained from the subjects of the specific research so that it could not lead to their identification.
