Abstract |
This paper is an attempt to highlight and understand the views of primary school teachers regarding distance learning and their belief in whether they were ready to implement and put into practice the characteristics of distance education. This effort gives us the opportunity to ask ourselves and identify the need for training of primary school teachers regarding e-learning, while, at the same time, to identify the difficulties encountered by teachers during the period of distance learning. The pandemic and all the consequences it brought, was an opportunity to reflect on the problems and dysfunctions of the education system in general, thus raising the issue of a complete overhaul, so that it can respond in a key way to the learning and his educational obligations. During the pandemic, where education was impossible to carry out under normal circumstances, the method of distance learning was adopted, which although a functional means of teaching, in many cases, was a brake on teachers creating a gap between teachers and students. As there were a number of limitations at the level of teaching, but also at the level of interaction between teacher and students, since the teachers themselves were not fully prepared and trained to deal with such conditions. In these degenerate conditions, the importance of teacher training is pointed out and intensified, in order to assimilate all the possibilities of e-learning. Through this work, the theoretical background of this topic is first presented and an attempt is made to clarify basic terms and concepts. Next, the work progresses by listing the methodology followed for conducting research and collecting statistics on teachers' views on distance learning, their readiness, whether or not they had it, and the obstacles they face. The research is expanded by having the primary teachers as respondents and the data are collected in the form of quantitative research and the use of the questionnaire, in order to have clear and accurate results regarding the topic, which is analyzed and presented in the context of this work.
