Abstract Through the present research study, a gender approach is attempted in the field of Education, through the experiences and positions of the teachers themselves and the Principals of the school units. A study that aims to delve as much as possible into the major issue of gender identity, how this type of issues is addressed by the teaching staff, but also by the rest of the school community, specifically students and parents. This study highlights the importance of the school environment, as part of society that changes nature and position, year after year, highlighting the progress that has been made on the issue of integration of LGBTQ people, and the school environment. At school, even today, there are phenomena of exclusion, based on gender stereotypes and hierarchical structures, along with phenomena of negative behavior, even violence, to the detriment of LGBT people. These are students who - in the tender and sensitive age of adolescence - are called upon to manage and harmonize the momentum of youth, their inner worries and quests for their sexuality - which they are still researching - along with their stress and problematic behavior, family, school and wider social environment. This paper highlights the issues that emerged through the attitudes of the teachers who participated in the research. In particular, young teachers with little experience in the school participated, who appear sensitized, active and trained around the issues of integration of LGBTQI people in society. At the same time, teachers with great experience participated, who, equally, are governed by progressive ideas, receptivity to the "different", but without training in the management of diversity. Finally, teachers in positions of responsibility participated, whose experience and views on diversity management are of particular interest. The ultimate goal of this research is to take a holistic approach to the issue of gender equality in the school community, to address the problems that arise from the Educational Community, and to record the perceptions, positions and proposals of the Principals and Principals of Secondary school units.
