Abstract This paper presents the ways that teachers prefer to educate themselves in order to incorporate deaf or hearing-impaired students to their classes. The study focuses on hearing loss and deafness as well as on the education of the teachers. It is a fact that teachers in Greece are increasingly trained on special education, although not on the field of deafness. Children suffering from hearing loss or deafness do not often attend special schools, so they are treated like ordinary students, creating problems on the learning process for those children. Training teachers on this matter will result in equality and accessibility of these children in education and the society. The commu-nity of deaf people struggles for their accessibility, with education in particular being a field very important.
