Abstract	This paper focuses on children's modern poetry and how it can be understood by preschool children through art activities. A historical review from antiquity to the present day is carried out in order to see the development of children's poetry through the centuries and the components that led to the emergence of children's modern poetry. At the same time, the milestones that globally led to the flourishing of children's modern poetry are mentioned, while some of its subgenres such as limericks and haiku are also studied. Finally, the research questions that accompany the research part and the creative activities through which children's modern poetry is approached are formulated.
