Abstract The integration of artificial intelligence in education and specifically in the teaching of physics in schools is still an uncharted area for teachers and the education system in general. The effective use of artificial intelligence systems in teaching depends on several factors. Our research showed that physics teachers seem to have a positive attitude towards the integration of artificial intelligence into the teaching of the subject. However, there are significant obstacles that must be overcome such as the lack of know-how and the appropriate equipment. In addition, security and personal data protection issues, as well as the exclusion of digitally illiterate students from teaching, are considered among the most important risks when using artificial intelligence systems. For the most effective integration of these systems in teaching, the teachers suggest their training, the provision of appropriate equipment in schools and the informing of students about the correct use of artificial intelligence.
