Abstract This paper aims to highlight, through the theoretical review and practical interventions, the impact of the Pedagogy of Multiliteracies and distance education, in the preschool age. The work is structured in three chapters. The first two focus on the theoretical foundation on which the whole project was based. More specifically, the first chapter begins with a definition of the concept of "literacy". This is followed by an extended reference to the terms "Pedagogy of Multiliteracies", "multimodality", and their importance in the teaching practice is demonstrated. Then, the complexity of distance education is highlighted, in conjunction with the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on the life and education of kindergarten children. In the second chapter, the importance of the existence of the teaching methodology is emphasized, with the aim of a successful educational teaching and learning. In this context, the need for the mastering of the concepts of "time and space" by preschool children is documented and the pedagogical framework is presented, within which: the "pedagogy of polyliteracies", "multimodality" and "ex distance education", unified• in order to achieve a cultural diversity within the school classroom and by extension to "cultivate" a society of "literate citizens". The second chapter concludes with Educational Design Research, through which the design of the educational program. The third chapter describes in detail the didactic intervention implemented, in the context of teaching an online course, entitled: "The neighborhood of the school". Essentially, in this work, an attempt is made to approach teaching in the middle of the e-class, in order to flourish a pedagogical framework, responding to the theories of the Pedagogy of Multiliteracies, in the preschool age. The central question around which we will move is the following: why is the pedagogy of multiliteracies important in a preschool classroom and how does the teacher based on the pedagogy of multiliteracies promote and encourage learning, substantively and creatively? The purpose, goals, questions during the intervention, as well as the time of its implementation are described in more detail. The material collected and the stages of each activity are indicated in detail. It should be noted here that a large part of the activities was designed online; however, activities were also designed to be implemented in places outside the school environment, such as for example in the neighborhood, the post office, the neighborhood park and at home. The course was attended by: children who took part in a specially designed online exploratory learning course based on the pedagogical and quality criteria of VTT-Box, with an average duration of ten days. The work concludes with the analysis of the possible results of the activities in the children's learning. In other words, the chapter concludes, with some conclusions and personal opinions, regarding the performance of the online course, which is based on the aims-purposes of the Pedagogy of Multiliteracies and the methods of implementing distance education. Moreover, the online course was created to promote the all-round development of children, with the aim, through the strengthening of multidimensional communication skills, to enable them to survive in the constantly changing "socio-political becoming".
