Abstract In a world where globalization prevails and the rise of technology plays an important role in people's daily lives, it is possible to make use of the various technological tools offered in various fields, especially in that of education. Information and communication technologies (ICT) offer a range of diverse educational tools, which are particularly useful for teachers, as it has been proven in many studies worldwide which motivate students to actively participate, collaborate, interact and communicate within the educational process. A great digital tool offered by technology is that of digital storytelling. Through recent research, it has been shown that the use of digital storytelling integrated within the educational process attracts the interest of students activating their motivation to learn. However, a number of studies conducted in the past years have shown that despite the educational benefits of ICT and the use of digital storytelling in the integration of educational teaching they are not widely used in schools in Greece and the results they bring to education are questionable. Thus, the purpose of this research is to investigate the views, experiences and feelings of English language teachers who use ICT and the digital storytelling method for the learning of English as a foreign language to primary school students. In order to accomplish this purpose, applied research, based on the analysis of qualitative data was applied using semi-structured interview as a tool, exploring the experiences, feelings and opinions of English language teachers regarding the use of ICT and the use of the digital storytelling tool in the learning of English as a foreign language to primary school students in Crete. According to the findings of the study, the incorporation of ICT and digital storytelling in teaching practice has significant effects on English language learning and the results seem to be quite encouraging, as their use stimulates children's interest, while promoting the participation of the majority of students, increasing their motivation to learn and presumably enhancing their listening and speaking skills, offering a more meaningful learning. At the same time, the research reveals the drawbacks of the use of ICT and digital storytelling in education, as well as the obstacles encountered in the use of ICT and digital storytelling in English language teaching in relation to the country's technological equipment, internet connectivity, the roles of teachers in terms of using technological tools, and the lack of training and familiarity of teachers with the new technological tools.
