Abstract The purpose of the present research study was the qualitative investigation of the views, attitudes and expectations of the parents of Primary Education students for their communication with the School Administration of the School unit. At the same time, their views, attitudes and perceptions about the role and profession of the social worker were investigated, as well as the necessity of Social Work Practice in the school environment. A total of five research questions were asked to eighteen parents of students and more specifically: a) what are the reasons, ways and frequency of communication with the School Administration, b) what are their views about the communication profile of the Principal and any difficulties in communication, c) what are their expectations and suggestions regarding their communication with the School Administration, d) what are their attitudes and views regarding the profession and the role of the social worker, e) what are their attitudes and views on the necessity of a social worker in the school unit and how do they think it could contribute to school-family communication. From the thematic analysis of the research data it emerged that: a) for the majority of the participants the communication with the School Administration of the school unit is sparse, non-systematic, it is not carried out in the context of defined meetings and the main reasons for communication is the management / problem solving, b ) the majority of participants have positive attitudes and perceptions regarding the communication profile of the Director, c) most of the participants said they were satisfied with the present communication and the improvement proposals were made mainly by those who maintain negative relationships and communication with the School Administration, d) about the role and profession of the social worker, the majority of participants have positive attitudes and perceptions, while individuals are distorted or negative, e) the majority of participants agreed on the need for a social worker in the school unit and consider that it could contribute positively in school-family communication.
