Abstract The aim of the research is to record the views of preschool teachers regarding the practices they implement in the kindergarten to ensure quality in the organization of the physical environment. The research sample consisted of 18 kindergarten teachers, substitutes and permanent teachers from various public schools in Greece. Qualitative research methods were used in the research and structured interviews were applied as a data collection tool. Survey data were evaluated through thematic analysis. The results of the research showed that the preschool teachers know and apply practices of organizing the physical environment based on quality’s criteria. The contribution of space and material to children's learning is highlighted through the use of learning centers and play areas. However, the organization of the physical environment by the preschool teachers lags behind on a practical level compared to their theoretical understanding of quality criteria. The presence of factors that make it difficult to implement the practices is strong.
