Abstract The present study studies the enhancement of vocabulary in preschool children in the educational context, through the views of teachers. The purpose of the work is to explore in more detail the views and teaching practices of vocabulary applied by preschool teachers and the influence they exert on their formation, important factors related to their age, years of professional experience and studies. The research was descriptive, the research tool was the questionnaire, a sample of the research that led to 274 preschool teachers who worked in educational units of Crete and the research was conducted from April 1 to April 30, 2021. The results of Vocabulary, Teachers, Preschool Students of the research showed that teachers consider it important to enhance vocabulary for students to master oral and written speech. They state that the training programs they participate in do does not focus as much as they should on teaching vocabulary. They basically use indirect methods of vocabulary enhancement and do not use technology. From the demographic factors, the years of service and the level of training seem to influence the views and practices that teachers apply in enhancing vocabulary. It is recommended that future research be conducted to examine the subject matter of this paper, at national level, due to the research gap identified.
