Abstract

In this paper is examined the presence of Environmental Education in primary school through the teacher’s aspect and the teacher’s educational needs over the Environmental Education are shown. The paper is divided in two parts: theoretical and research. In the theoretical part are explained all the concerns about Environmental Education, the history of the Environmental Education abroad and in Greece and the education that takes place according to it in Greece. As for the research part it is constituted of the methodology of the research, the main goal and the research questions, the sample, the analysis and the explaining of the data. In the end there are the conclusions of the research. The research is quantitative. Data were collected via online questionnaires and analyzed with the SPSS program. The sample of the research were 100 primary school teachers from Crete. The basic conclusion of the research is the fact that on the one hand there is genuine interest in the Environmental Education by the teachers, on the other hand the lack of knowledge doesn’t allow teachers to include it in their daily school program suggesting at the same time their will for an educational program
