Abstract The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of didactic interventions through blended learning with the aid of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Education; concerning the Religious Studies course and more specifically the teaching of module from the book of the third grade of Primary School "Stories from the New Testament" and "Days of celebration of Christians". The sample which participated was comprised of ten identical classes, aged 8 to 9, attending the third grade of primary school in different schools of the prefecture of Heraklion, Crete. Quantitative planning and more specifically experimental research were used to conduct the research. This sample was divided into two groups, five classes were the experimental group and the other five classes were the control group. The experimental group was taught blended teaching with technological means by using ICTs as an auxiliary tool of teaching. On the other hand, the control group was taught according to the detailed program of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs. The results showed significant improvement in the understanding of Religious Studies course in the experimental group in comparison with the improvement in the control group. In addition, the results showed that the opinion of the students of the experimental group was different and more positive after the teaching interventions with ICT. Regarding teachers' views on ICT, the results showed that teachers were neither for nor against.
