Abstract

This paper presents the theoretical framework of Adult Education, introduces the basic learning theories as well as the specific characteristics of adult learners. Through the approach of these particular characteristics it is established that the contribution of Distance Learning is crucial for Lifelong Learning. It also presents the theoretical framework for the specifications of the educational material and analyzes the role that this plays in distance learning. Furthermore, in the context of this diplomatic work, educational material is created, according to the principles of distance learning, for the training of adult educators with emphasis on Second Chance Schools.
