Abstract The aim of the present research project was the design, implementation and then the evaluation of a complementary school-based Distance Education (DE) using an interactive educational material in the lesson of creative occupation and more specifically in the unit: analysis of the children's tracing. During its implementation, the principles of designing educational material according to the theorists of DE were applied, and the digital tools h5p and the Chamilo platform were used. In addition, as an introductory loading activity the digital storytelling tool Plotagon- 3D animation video was used and as a final reflection activity the Doodly application was used. The educational material was assessed and evaluated by experts in the design of interactive educational material using ICT, by fellow teachers of the same specialty and by 42 students of the 2nd class of the Secondary School of the Health Care and Wellness Sector. The survey was mixed (quantitative and qualitative) with purposive sampling, and used closed-ended questionnaires and semi-structured interviews - focus groups. Qualitative content analysis and the program "IBM SPSS Statistics v.26" were used in data processing. . The results of both the qualitative and quantitative research showed that the material follows the principles of DE and Multimedia Learning, however, it was considered that there was not enough interaction through it among the students, as well as the absence of introductory activities before the theory.
