Abstract The purpose of this research was the design, implementation and evaluation of educational material with the method of distance learning for developing of the “Theory of Mind”, through the use of social stories, in order to enhance social and emotional development of autistic children. The principles of Multimedia Learning were used to implement the educational material. The interactive material was created with H5P software and then integrated into the Chamilo environment. The assessment of the educational material followed afterwards. At the first stage, qualitative research was carried out with purposive sampling of experts and the questionnaire as a research tool, in order to answer the first two research questions, that is whether the E.M. is governed by the principles and methodology of distance learning and whether it has been created in accordance with the principles of multimedia learning. In a second stage, the same method was used to analyse teachers' views on the content of the educational material, again using a questionnaire. The data were processed with qualitative content analysis. The results of the research showed that the educational material is governed by the principles of Multimedia Learning and it is designed with the method of Distance Learning. Moreover, through the research conclusions it is a fact that the content of the educational material was confirmed that it is attractive, well structured and scientifically valid.
