Abstract This paper deals with the issue of the relationship between teachers and educational policy. The purpose of the research is to investigate the opinions of teachers on the way they perceive educational policy, the way it is related to their profession and work and what role they reserve for them in relation to educational policy. The research is qualitative and the semi-structured interview was chosen as the data collection method, while the thematic qualitative analysis was used. It was found that the teachers perceive the direct influence and the strict framework of the central educational policy, which largely determines their work and the internal educational policy of the school units with minimal autonomy. Also, teachers, although they have happened to challenge the educational policy, eventually give in by applying the regulatory framework. Finally, Critical Pedagogy is considered to be useful if it is first understood and known.
