Abstract

Keeping up with the developments of our time, distance learning meets modern educational needs thanks to its flexibility and openness. Its fundamental element is the well-designed educational material characterized by the polymorphic and autonomous nature it has where students are concerned. The introduction of distance learning into school reality - as well as in hospital education through the implementation of programs - is an attempt to exploit its diverse potential. The need for continuous renewal and improvement of distance learning for hospitalized students has been an incentive for this diploma thesis, which refers to a case study. Its subject is the construction of interactive educational materials utilizing the knowledge on the methods of distance learning and its application in hospitalized students. Its purpose is to evaluate this distance learning’s educational material in terms of user-friendliness, flexibility and a pleasant learning environment, as well as to investigate the impact of its practical application on long-term hospitalized students who are forced to interrupt their studies in their regular school. The case study was based on semi-structured interviews and the content analysis of their transcripts, as well as a descriptive evaluation of the material. Through analysis of interviews and descriptive evaluation, it is concluded that the educational material was easy to use, with the necessary flexibility to serve a hospitalized student, completed in a pleasant learning environment that had a positive effect on the psychology of the hospitalized student.
