Abstract This thesis attempts to explore practices that bilingual adolescents engage in digital environments. The main research questions concerned the relationship of adolescents with their minority language, the patterns they display when using digital media and the degree of connection between digital practices and identity. Bilingual students attending a Highschool in Rethymnon participated in the survey, based on their familiarity with technology and especially with the use of social media. Regarding the data collection process, 9 semi-structured interviews were conducted within the school premises. At the same time, participants shared relevant digital data with the researcher, which were used in the analysis. During the data analysis, the participants the participants seemed to belong to 3 groups based on the language practices, beliefs and management followed by their families. In Group A (n = 3) bilingualism seemed to be additive, with the minority language being identified as the communication code of everyday life. Group B (n = 4) consisted of adolescents who displayed a variety of language practices and management strategies, which were mainly confined to safe spaces, with the family being prominent. Finally, some of the participants (n = 2) were indifferent towards their minority language, showing a clear preference for the dominant. Afterwards, the groups were linked to their digital language practices and the adolescents' social media activity was commented on. The findings of the research show that the language policy of adolescents is directly linked to their digital practices, in which rich material for study can be found. Especially in cases of adolescents in the second group, the use of multiple tools for mediating meaning in minority language was observed. Finally, the exploration of digital identities handled by bilingual young people was helpful for bringing to surface information related to their bilingual profile in general.
