Abstract

Digital storytelling has emerged as an innovative and effective approach for enhancing distance education. This literature review explores the role of digital storytelling in distance education by analyzing the existing research on the topic. The review reveals that digital storytelling can facilitate learning by engaging students in active and reflective learning experiences, promoting critical thinking and creativity, and enhancing communication and collaboration skills. Moreover, digital storytelling can help overcome the challenges of distance education by providing a sense of community, fostering social presence, and enhancing the overall learning experience. The review also identifies some of the key factors that contribute to the success of digital storytelling in distance education, such as the use of multimedia elements, the integration of storytelling into the curriculum, and the provision of appropriate support and guidance for students. Overall, this literature review highlights the potential of digital storytelling as a valuable tool for enhancing distance education and provides insights for educators and researchers interested in implementing this approach in their teaching and learning practices.
