Alternative Title Face and Face Feature Detection

Abstract We report our work on face detection and face feature detection. Given that consider images under nonconstrained scene conditions, the first stage of our method consists on skin colour detection. Three techniques have been developed and tested: construction of skin colour domain from image data, training of support vector machine, and training of a multilayer perceptron. Candidate regions are then tested according to their shape. Finally, a wavelet packet analysis is performed, and local features are extracted, which are then used for the classification in human face or not. The face feature detection is based on eyes and mouth detectors. In addition, a deformable is used for the verification of human face presence.
