Abstract The present thesis aims to characterize different types of protein-polymer conjugate samples by two main methods of thermal analysis. These two methods are Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). The first method examines the changes in the mass of protein-polymer conjugate samples as a function of temperature, while the second method examines the physical properties of these samples as a function of temperature. In this thesis, a bibliographical outlook will summarize the principles of these methods and their applications in the characterization of protein-polymer conjugates. In the experimental part, the characterization of a variety of protein-polymer conjugates synthesized in the laboratory of Synthetic Biomaterials will be analysed. It is important to mention that this thesis is mainly bibliographical due to COVID restrictions. However, I was trained in both TGA and DSC analysis and performed a series of measurements. The TGA and DSC data for most of the samples that are analysed in this thesis were provided by members of the laboratory of Synthetic Biomaterials.
