Abstract

The current acute economic crisis in Greece, has brought on the surface both structural and operational weaknesses of the Public Administration. Its chronic problems remained unresolved despite the efforts made to implement reforms in the past. This paper presents a medley of measures and reforms that need to be adopted in order to make Public Administration more efficient, through saving resources, and at the same time to upgrade the quality of its services. The ultimate purpose of this paper is to propose the necessary measures that will lead to the exemption of the Public Administration from phenomena of formalism, legalism and legislative complexity, issuing to the enhancement of its functionality and flexibility.
